Who We Are

The pro bono team works with organization staff to provide support and increase our advocates capacity and reach. Our team receives requests from staff for work that will fulfill the 50-hour requirement. Assignments can include legal research, intake and hotline assistance, reviewing or developing legal information articles, and projects that will provide direct legal services to clients.

What We Do

Legal Assistance of Western New York, Inc. ® provides flexible and remote Pro Bono opportunities for Law Students and Law Graduates seeking to complete the 50 hour Pro Bono requirement for admission to the New York State Bar. In line with former Chief Judge Lippman's initiative, we encourage Law Graduate volunteers to continue volunteering after admission in order to expand the number of admitted attorneys providing services to residents of our 14-county service area.
