The New York State Unified Court System's Attorney Emeritus Program (AEP) works with the organized bar and legal services programs to place attorneys in good standing, retired or active, who are at least 55 years old, with a minimum of 10 years experience, in pro bono civil legal service opportunities.
AEP volunteers assist LawNY clients with family law issues like custody, adoption and uncontested divorce, and with simple wills and estate matters. They also perform legal research and share their legal knowledge with LawNY staff members. Attorneys Emeritus expand the services and assistance that we provide by sharing their time and experience. Their guidance, advice and mentorship is truly appreciated.
