Who We Are
Legal Assistance of Western New York, Inc.®'s mission is to increase access to justice through excellent legal representation, advocacy, and service. LawNY®’s vision is a society where access to justice is not determined by one’s social or economic status.
In line with that vision, we aim to offer eligible clients advice and planning about their estate and need for a will. Not everyone needs a will, but all can benefit from the advice and counsel of an attorney to answer questions and provide them with the answers they need to ensure their wishes are met after their passing.
Help secure not only generational wealth, but provide the comfort in helping people to plan for loved ones and the security of making those decisions in advance.
What We Do
We continue to see an increase in our local office requests for assistance in providing these services. Become a fan of this program and take a case to assist with a Will, Healthcare Proxy and/or POA. As always, LawNY will provide FREE CLE credit to attorneys that provide pro bono services to our clients.
Attorneys can earn 1 CLE credit for every two hours they provide case services and assistance to LawNY clients. LawNY has partnered with the Feerick Center at Fordham Law School to serve rural clients with pro bono attorneys working remotely tin order to facilitate remote assistance to clients.
LawNY provides staff support, templates, listening sessions for Q&A, and other resources as needed.
Clients can be assisted remotely via email and phone conversations or in person. LawNY is able to assist clients with document execution.
Do YOU have extensive knowledge on estate issues, supplemental needs trusts, guardianship of adult children and want to be a resource for complex issues? Contact our attorney coordinator with your interest at pbacoordinator@lawny.org.
